Andrés Johnson

Andrés graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Chile, Santiago with a special in Economics at Michigan University, USA.

He joined Mares Australes (later part of Nutreco’s Marine Harvest) and was in charge of the technical department dealing with fish health and sanitary aspects of salmon farming. He became the Production and Operations Manager and later, the Managing Director of Marine Harvest Chile in 2001, with Marine Harvest producing over 100,000 tons of salmon in 2006 and representing sales of over USD300m.

Andrés also led the acquisition, integration and merger of 4 salmon farming companies. He was an active member of the team which created Marine Harvest International and was also a member of the Steering Committee, involved in strategic planning, sales strategies, global benchmarking, market and business intelligence. In 2007, he established his own consultancy company in the aquaculture business.
